On this journey, I have completed Shamanic Studies with Foundation of Shamanic Studies founded by Michael Harner, the Healing series of journeying and psychopomp, divination practices, calling of the spirits, and drumming and soul dance. I have expanded my awareness in this lifetime, hence I pursued my Usui Reiki Energy Healing studies becoming an Advanced Usui Reiki Healing practitioner with One Light Center, Durham and attained Reiki Usui Master Teacher at North Carolina Reiki Training Center in Asheville,   using  several techniques such as crystal healing, brain balancing, aura clearing, reiki movement and sound frequencies.

Today, I have created a sustainable fitness coaching business called Body Strong Vibes where I practice to align clients in Body, Mind and Spirit offering  custom guidance and holistic alternatives to understand their trauma and empower them towards their own healing journey.

What is Reiki?

“Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy, and is also a word used to describe a system of natural healing. This tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication. 

I discovered Reiki a while back and decided to take classes to get attuned into sacred Life Force practice. It is a channel to your energetic field to clear any blockages and energy towards areas that need it. The practitioner places hands around your Chakras (seven + knees an feet: Crown, Third eye, Throat, Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral, Root)  areas or hovering 6 inches of your body to conduct the Life Force towards your body, it is one way communication stream from the source.

What does a typical Reiki session involve - what can I expect to happen at a first session and how long will it last?

In a full session of about an hour to an hour and a half, you would lie fully clothed on a massage table. You would feel hands laid gently on (in some styles slightly above) your body in a series of positions on the head, abdomen and back. Legs and arms might also be treated.

You might notice that the hands were hotter in certain positions. 

You might go to sleep and would almost certainly feel a sense of calm and relaxation.

Maybe you would notice a reduction of pain in certain places, or a clearing of some mental or emotional confusion.

Occasionally people notice old symptoms surfacing in what is known as a ‘healing reaction’. This passes quite quickly, and is seen as a good sign, indicating something is moving.

How often would I have to have the treatment to feel a benefit?

Mrs. Takata often recommended a series of four consecutive sessions as a start to tackling any chronic condition. Otherwise, or after this, one a week would be a good program. Some benefit is usually felt right away, but of course long-term conditions are likely to need longer.

What happens after a Reiki Session?

The healing continues after the session, encouraging several practices of self-love. 

You integrate and feel more whole again, as your energy of light body is activated within 21 days you experience a detox and release period, where things are clearing and renewing.
